Baby Basics

Course Description: This practical course is designed to teach parents and caregivers the necessary skills to manage choking emergencies and perform CPR on new-born babies and infants. It is an ideal course for nannies, domestic workers, parents-to-be and other family members. The course covers the following topics:

• Emergency assessment, personal safety and calling for help
• Infant CPR
• Management of Choking

Testing and Certification: This is a participation only course with no assessment at the end. All the training is practical. No prior CPR knowledge is required. A DVD, A4 laminated poster and A6 key card to attach to a nappy bag are provided to each attendant to take home.

Duration: The course lasts approximately 2 hours with time for an informal question and answer chat with Dr Jude afterwards.

Hosting: Would you be interested in hosting a course from the comfort of your own home? For every 5 full paying participants, we will offer a free place for the host.

Bookings: Courses can be booked to suit individual needs, either weekdays or over weekends. The course is run at CPR4Life training venue in Lonehill, Fourways.  Alternatively, for group bookings we are happy to run the course from a venue of your choice.
