
CPR for Everyone
Course Description: This course teaches the skills of CPR and how to manage choking in adults, children and babies. It is an ideal course for lay rescuers, particularly those who may need to respond to an incident in their workplace such as security officers, sports coaches and lifeguards, fitness staff and teachers. The course covers the following topics:
- Emergency assessment, personal safety and calling for help
- CPR in adults, children and babies
- Use of barrier device and pocket mask
- Use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Treatment of Choking
Testing and Certification: This is a practical based course with a written and practical assessment at the end. No prior medical knowledge is required. A workbook is provided to each participant to study from and all who attend and pass the exam will receive a certificate from the Resuscitation council of South Africa. Participants can also claim 1000 Discovery Vitality points for attendance.
Duration: 4 Hours
Bookings: Courses can be booked to suit individual needs, either weekdays or over weekends. The course is run at CPR4Life training venue in Lonehill, Fourways.
